The Regional History Museum is the best place to start if you want to understand Vratsa beyond its mountains and views. It is in the town centre, at 2 Hristo Botev Square, a short walk from Hotel Mira.
The highlight of the museum is the Rogozen Treasure – 165 silver vessels decorated with gilding. It was collected by several generations of local Thracian rulers between the late 6th and the 4th century BC and represents the family silver service of one dynasty. The scenes on the vessels tell of Thracian myths and spiritual life.
